When a tooth is heavily decayed or loses a considerable amount tooth substance the tooth can be too weak to survive. A crown is a dental restoration which caps a damaged tooth. Caps are usually made out of porcelain, ceramic, or metal alloys and can only be removed by a dentist.
Bridges
are the process of replacing lost teeth by joining a false tooth with teeth that are right next to it. It is a solution to filling gaps or to keep existing teeth from shifting and can cover one or more spaces where teeth are missing.
